Born and brought up on a country estate in north Norfolk, educated at Eton and the University of Manchester, Jonathan has lived in London, Paris (for seven years), Los Angeles, and Australia. He has worked as a fashion, portrait and landscape photographer, as a model, as a gardener, and as a financial analyst in the City. Currently, he is studying for a PhD in creative and critical writing at the University of East Anglia, under the supervision of Giles Foden. The novel he is writing for the PhD course explores questions of inheritance in a titled family and the tension between rural and urban ways of life. His critical dissertation deals with the libertine tradition in eighteenth-century literature.
