Evelyn Hood (1936-2023) was a Scottish author of over forty novels and numerous short stories. She was also known for her plays, pantomimes, musicals and poems. A former journalist, Evelyn Hood was best known for her family sagas, many of which are set in her home town of Paisley. Her seven volume Prior's Ford series is set in a modern day fictional village in Dumfries and Galloway.
