WHAT WE DO:
The Film, TV & Theatre department at Sheil Land Associates represents writers, writer-directors and producers working in television drama & comedy, film, theatre, radio, children’s live action, animation and digital media. Please see the individual credits below for all our clients. We also represent the film, TV, stage rights and broadcasting interests of Sheil Land authors and books as you will find elsewhere on this website: from thrillers and crime stories, historical fiction, young adult and children’s novels through to science fiction, fantasy and award-winning literary novels alongside the full range of non fiction titles. Many are optioned for film and television to producers in the UK and overseas. Our clients’ theatre productions have included Paterson Joseph's Sancho: An Act of Remembrance at the Wilton's Music Hall in London following a successful US tour. Productions in 2019/2020 included By the Waters of Liverpool based on the book by Helen Forrester premiered at the Liverpool Empire following the box office smashes of Twopence to Cross the Mersey and Sally Abbott's I Think We Are Alone with Frantic Assembly which toued the UK in February - March 2020. Naylah Ahmed adapted Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol for online viewing for Christmas 2020 with Jermyn Street Productions and Guildford Shakespare company. The performances starred Brian Blessed and Penelope Keith. On television, Dan Berlinka’s The A List premiered on the BBC iPlayer as one of the first teen commissions from CBBC. It is also now on Netflix worldwide who have solely recommissioned the series which is now in post production for broadcast 2021. Dan is co-creator, co-writer, co-director and EP over the series. Amanda Duke's factual drama The Cure produced by Story Films was broadcast on Channel 4 in late 2019. See trailer (right). Susan Hill's The Small Hand also premiered on Channel 5 for Christmas viewing 2019 which was produced by Awesome Media. It is now available to purchase on DVD, see more here. David Chidlow has returned to Jimmy McGovern's Moving On with a third episode and his two episodes of Hidden for BBC4 were broadcast in early 2020. New client Adriel Leff has also written for the next series of Jimmy McGovern's Moving On which transmitted March 2021. Sally Abbott is returning to Vera with a second script for the series which is now in principal photography Spring 2021. In Children's TV, Dog Loves Books series premiered on CBBC and is available on iPlayer. Alan Gilbey was the lead writer on over 30 episodes! Omari McCarthy's first TV broadcast credit was an episode of JoJo & Gran Gran which aired on CBBC in 2020 and is available on iPlayer. Dan Berlinka has created and written a new CBBC comedy series Lagging which begins post production this Spring. Brian Dooley has also written on the series. The Brothers McLeod's much loved preschool animation series Circle Square has be gone into production for CBeebies. WHO WE ARE:
Lucy Fawcett completed her law degree at the Polytechnic of Central London and following posts at the University of London Library and Waterstones, she joined Dramatists and Directors Agency Rochelle Stevens & Co. She joined Sheil Land in 2007 and heads the Film & TV department.
