Pui Fan Lee

    Pui Fan Lee was born in the UK and brought up in a Chinese takeaway in the Midlands. Her family came from Hong Kong and she first started acting on TV aged 13 as a member of the Children’s Television Workshop. After training at LAMDA, Pui wrote her one woman play ‘Short, Fat Ugly & Chinese’. This was performed in London, Hong Kong and Singapore and on BBC Radio where it won the ‘Race in the Media ‘award from the Commission for Racial Equality.
     
    Pui performed in many TV, Radio, and theatre productions before landing the part of Po in the original ‘Teletubbies’.(Pui was script consultant on the new Teletubbies) She was one of the first presenters to appear on the BBC flagship channel ‘CBeebies’ and went on to write for episodes of SHOW ME SHOW ME and OLD JACK'S BOAT – both shows co-created with presenter Chris Jarvis. Over the years, Pui has written for various other platforms on ‘Cbeebies’, THE CHRIS AND PUI SHOW live stage tour and PEPPA PIG’S FIRST CINEMA EXPERIENCE: FESTIVAL OF FUN movie.
