After training in London as a classical pianist and violinist, Sarah joined the world of publishing as assistant to Carole Welch at Hodder and Stoughton. She was for many years a freelance editor, combining this with teaching music and bringing up her three children. Sarah is joint director of the recently established Tetbury Book Festival, which enjoyed its inaugural weekend in May 2019, featuring authors such as Ali Smith and Melissa Harrison. Sarah lives in the beautiful Gloucestershire town of Stroud.

Her debut novel, The Missing Pieces of Nancy Moon, was published in 2020 by Headline Review, and was a USA Today bestseller. The Schoolteacher of Saint- Michel was published in 2021, and was a USA Today bestseller. The Lost Song of Paris was published in 2022 and was an Apple US bestseller. The Traitor's Wife will be published in summer 2023.
